Reviewed Cranberry Feta Pinwheels
"I used half of the feta and blended it with the cream cheese using my hand mixer. I also added diced celery, finely chopped pecans, and added peppered turkey breast (from the deli). I made these for a fall party and all the girls seemed to like them."

I am a Kindergarten teacher in the lovely state of PA. I relocated from Upstate/Central NY in the summer of 2007. I love to cook and bake for anyone who will eat my creations, but especially for my husband of 7 years. Lately I have been trying dishes that I can cook in advance and freeze for later. I think I am on my way to OAMC, but I don't have a big enough freezer yet!
I love Recipezaar (edit: food.com) because it seems that I can ALWAYS find what I'm looking for here, especially home-style ethnic recipes. I love to cook dishes that have been in other people’s families for generations. I must confess that I rarely follow a recipe exactly (unless I am baking, and even then I get creative). If I review your recipe, I will describe any changes and take these into account when giving stars.
Have I mentioned that my stove and cook top are over 50 years old? My husband and I purchased our first home in December 2010 and the kitchen was last remodeled around 1960! The original owners really made it a wonderful, open kitchen and used top-of-the-line “Preway” Stainless steel in-wall oven and electric cook top. They all work perfectly and I even have the owner’s manuals. Until we can afford new ones, these suit me just fine.
When I'm not cooking or baking I love to cuddle with our two Cairn Terriers, read, play guitar, listen to music (especially live music), sew, garden, fix up and decorate our new house, play games, shop, and spend time outdoors. All of these things are more fun with my hubby, of course.
I LOVE Mexican food, and also Thai food. I also have a GIANT sweet tooth and love desserts, generally those that include chocolate. I love stovetop popcorn with butter and salt. This is best enjoyed with a glass of OJ with ice. Try it!
My favorite dish to cook (and eat) is macaroni and meatballs with spareribs and sausage in the sauce (gravy). It is time consuming, but oh so worth it. I am very picky about sauce and meatballs and pretty much only like my own (which is a hybrid of my mother-in-law's and my own taste preferences).
