    About Me

Born in NYC, moved to Miami, FL in 1972. I am a widower, a retired computer programmer, 67 y.o. One of my favorite cookbooks is "Glorious Stew" by Dorothy Ivens. My cookbook collection numbers over 100, including some of the classic ones.

    Favorite Foods

I am into soups and stews. For me, a fine meal can consist of soup, bread, salad and wine. I like the classic soups, split pea, lentil, minestrone, onion, tomato, etc and stews such as Boeuf Bourguigon,
Ragout de Boeuf, Stroganoff, Chicken Cacciatore, Cog au Vin, etc. My alltime favorite soup is potato-leek, either hot or cold as in vichysoisse, but, alas, I have to lay off potatoes and other white starches due to a marginally high blood sugar level (not diabetic, but I need to watch it).
