    About Me

I live in West Virginia with my husband and two daughters, who are 5 years and 3 years. I teach 5th grade at a local elementary school.

In my spare time, I enjoy music, reading, shopping and spending time with family and friends.

Shortly before the birth of my youngest daughter, I started becoming interested in cooking, with great thanks to this site. My sister-in-law recommended to me, and I absolutely love it. I love trying new things, and my hubby and family seem to enjoy trying new additions. I used to collect cookbooks, and I still have quite a few, but since I've been a member of 'Zaar, I have to admit that I don't use them much anymore. This is so much easier!

In addition to cooking, I enjoy spending time with my husband and girls, reading, and shopping. I'm also a big Virginia Tech fan, hence my user name. It's where I went to school, so my loyalty lives on! (even though my hubby is a big WVU fan...)

    Favorite Foods

I love all kinds of foods--Chinese, Italian, American, and I love trying new things I haven't had before. My husband and I love to experience new restaurants together when we go on trips. I don't really have one favorite restaurant, but P.F. Chang's, The Melting Pot, The Cheesecake Factory and Cucci's (a hometown Italian fave) rank up there among the top.

I like to hunt for new recipes to try and often share recipes with family. One of my favorite things to cook (and what my friends and family often ask for) is my spinach and artichoke dip, a replica of the Olive Garden Recipe. I also really enjoy trying new appetizers for holidays and family get-togethers.
