New Topic Can you make jams/preserves with persimmons? in Canning, Preserving and Dehydrating

"I have a persimmon tree in my yard that is covered with the fruit. It makes a mess all over the ground and thought if I could jar it, I could keep the yard cleared for my grand-daughters shoes. Help! Please!"

    About Me

I live in a little country town in the northern part of SC. Both of my sons are in the Army and I'm havng to get used to cooking for 3 (according to when they are home) now instead of 4. I love to read, draw, paint, fish and anything that is outdoors. My biggest pet peeve is someone "smacking" and blowing their nose when they eat and eating with their mouth open. I have two beautiful black cats, Hurricane Maverick and Crazy Daisy. Yes, you read that right, she's crazy, I am retired from the local Trauma Center where I worked in the ER as an EMT for 10 years A knee injury my down fall. A lot of the easy to ship recipes I make and send over sea to some soldiers and they rave at how good "they" were.  My sons are in the Army where one just came back from being depolyeed to Iraq. I also have a beautiful Grand-daughter.

    Favorite Foods

My favorite foods...this one is easy . "Rickys" hotdogs (best chili) and "The Beacon" (you've got to try their chilicheese burgers and onionrings if you are ever in Spartanburg, SC). I think Chicken Cacciatore is my favorite to make. Quick and easy. i also enjoy fixing Garlic Shrimp and Alfredo with sliced mushrooms with Angelhair pasta. We also like cooking over an open fire. Thank you for all the recipes you have posted. You've saved my tail quite a few time and saved me time also. Thanks for a large variety of recipe. I've got a disability in my knee and need recipes that don't need to be constantly watched. I fid plenty here,
