    I'm a semi-retired health professional with a love of hiking (especially Canada's East Coast Trail), music (especially the blues), dancing (especially belly dancing), yoga, reading, gardening, and entertaining. My all-time favorite cookbook is Cookery for One or Two by Barbara Swain. I also really enjoy anything I make from The Soup Bible.

    Favorite Foods

    I enjoy all kinds of food and beverages. I grew up in a large family with seven siblings and learned to eat everything that was put in front of me (and fight for it if I had to). I like slow cooking, especially soups and interesting twists on "comfort foods". I'm famous for my egg and spinach ramekins (served only once a year on Christmas morning), and my layered salad (the secret of which is to use Hellman's real mayonnaise). Both these recipes are from Canadian Living cookbooks.
