    About Me

My mother was from Kentucky and my father from Louisiana so I grew up eating a lot of spicy southern food. I still love spicy food but try to make healthy changes to family recipes where I can, without losing the quality of the recipe.

My mothers specialty was pies and I have followed that tradition. During the holidays she would begin cooking 6 days before the holiday. On Thanksgiving Eve she would have an open house and family & friends would come for pie & coffee.

The remaining family is scattered about the United States but when my husband & I travel to see our family we take many pies and a cooler with ice and containers. Each place we stop we visit we leave a pie and take a container of their food. By the time we return home we have plenty of everyones best and our family loves to get the pies!
