    My Journal

I have no recent activity to share.

    About Me

I live in Louisville, Kentucky with my husband and our black lab named Bailey (who thinks she's the queen of the castle and we are her servants). I am currently working as a secretary, but I'm planning to start Nursing school next fall (2005) -- the sooner the better, as I'm not getting any younger (sigh). :-)

My passions include cooking (of course), gardening (especially flowers and herbs), and backyard bird-watching. We have a great assortment of wildlife in our "urban oasis" and we have a great time sitting on our back patio watching the birds, chipmunks, rabbits, squirrels, and bats (at night). I have also seen raccoons, skunks, and a turtle (yes, I really do live in the city).

I have many cookbooks, but my all-time favorites are church cookbooks. However, since I found Zaar about a year ago, I only use my home church cookbook in addition to stacks and stacks of Zaar recipes I have printed out (note to self: you really need to catch up on your reviews).

    Favorite Foods

Favorite foods? It's easier to say what I don't like: beets, organ meats, any lunch meat with "loaf" in the name (pickle & pimiento loaf, etc.), and I'm not a big fan of raisins "in" baked goods, but I'll eat them otherwise.

Two of my biggest pet peeves are people who say "nuke-u-lar" and people who talk with their mouths full (especially people on tv -- Paula Deen is a major offender, but I like her show otherwise). :-)
