Reviewed chorizo and potato mini flautas

    Sunday, Jan 25, 2015 on

Very good. We made these for a lunch today, followed recipe exactly. Love the hint about heating the tortillas on the burners. It does add so much to the flauta. We thought it could use a little more spice and salt but it could have been our chorizo. We ended up making a 2nd batch and added a little garlic salt and some cumin....and some cheese....

Very good. My husband doesn't eat polenta so I skipped the potatoes in with the meat and made mashed potatoes to serve it with. I'm sure it would have been great with the polenta. I would make again.

Reviewed White & Wild Rice Pilaf

    Saturday, Mar 22, 2014 on

Very good pilaf recipe. I didn';t add celery because my husband doesn';t like it. I had 2/3 cup wild rice left so used that and added more stock. It turned out perfect. I will be making it again."

Reviewed chicken piccata with buttery lemon noodles

    Sunday, Mar 9, 2014 on

Very good. I did end up having to add about another 1/3 cup of cream and about the same of broth as it was very tangy. The noodles were wonderful, we used penne instead of spaghetti. I will make it again.

    Reviewed Rice and Beans Casserole

    Sunday, Oct 27, 2013 on

I always hate to rate when I had to make a couple changes but here it is. I had pinto beans and perhaps that is why it took a lot longer than 30 min to soften them. Also opted to make it vegetarian, since I didn't have any sausage anyway. That might have made it lacking something so we added some granulated garlic and siracha sauce. Not sure...

    Reviewed The Redneck's Best Caramels

    Sunday, Dec 16, 2012 on

This is a very good caramel recipe. It is a soft caramel so if you want it a little harder, cook a little longer. I added some sea salt to the top when it started hardening a little. I think I'll go with parchment or wax paper when I make them again as the foil stuck in creases butter didn't get to."

Reviewed Honey Brined Herb Roasted Turkey

    Tuesday, Nov 13, 2012 on

Fantastic. I cut the salt to 1 1/2 cups per other suggestions, I think I might cut it a little more next time as I thought the gravy was little salty. We had an 18 lb turkey and 5 people, hardly any leftovers! I brined it for 36 hours in a large water cooler container in the garage where it was cold. I also couldn't find fresh herbs so didn't...
