I am a twenty-something ELL (English Language Learners) teacher. I LOVE my job. It's incredibly rewarding to watch my students interact successfully within an English-speaking society. What I don't love is the hour commute to work--it really cuts into my cooking time.
Cooking is one of my favorite past times! It is such a great way to unwind after a long and stressful day at work.
My now-fiancé discovered he was gluten intolerant in 2007. At first, I was a little disappointed---no more bread, pasta, cookies, cake... But, then I decided it just opened up a whole new challenge. Now, I love trying to perfect gluten-free recipes, whether it is a new cookie recipe or trying to change a "normal" recipe into a gluten-free one.
Aside from kitchen chemistry, I like to spend time with my fiancé, my friends, and my three cats. I also love horseback riding. I've been riding Saddle Seat for about 13 years and am currently volunteering at a therapeutic riding facility--which I love just as much as teaching!
There are so many to list! I love chocolate (anything), Mexican food, Chinese food, Indian food, Japanese food, burgers, steak, curries, pizza, pasta, and pretty much anything off the grill. Anything my mom makes is especially delicious! I like good ol' home cooking and comfort foods. I don't have a super sophisticated palate, but I am a pretty adventurous eater and am willing to try anything (well, most things...) once!
