Reviewed My Very Popular Banana Cake With Caramel Icing
"This recipe is the best ever! This "cake", after adding chopped walnuts to the batter and baking in a loaf pan..."

I've always been fascinated with baking! I used to spend countless hours standing at the end of a butcher block table that was 6 feet wide and 12 feet long. I was mesmerized watching the baker turn limp pieces of dough into magnificient looking, scrumptious danish and pastries. As the sun would rise and the baker would go home (yes, I had been there the whole night) I anxiously awaited the arrival of the kind, older woman that would walk in promptly at 6a.m five days a week. Her job was to transform layers of lifeless cake into works of art. From simple birthday cakes to regal wedding cakes she would work through the day until she finished every cake order. I stood at her side asking too many questions, I'm sure. I learned the art of cake decorating and pastry making at the young age of 13. I don't know how it happened that my boss didn't get sighted for breaking all kinds of child labor laws but I wouldn't change a thing if I had it to do over.
I have always enjoyed baking. From bread, to cake or sweet rolls, even cheesecake--I love making them all.
Palm leaves, pecan crisps, french cheesecake. Basically, anything light, flaky and sweet!
