    About Me

    I am a southerner originally from east Texas via VA,KY, the Netherlands,England and now VS.  I enjoy cooking a wide variety of food. A huge pet peeve of mine are people that say they can cook and then turn around and do everything half-***** and cut corners. Good cooking to me is all about taking your time, tweaking the taste, and savoring your accomplishments. I enjoy collecting cookbooks and just recently started collecting vintage ones. I enjoy reading cookbooks that have all the hows,whys and what-fors in them. I am a big fan of the show Good Eats with Alton Brown.

    Favorite Foods

    Carrrot Cake is the most requested food I am asked to bring at get-togethers, and my baked beans or mexican layer dip run a close second.

    My favorite food is potatoes. Never met a potato I didn't like. Pork is probably my favorite meat. There is nothing like some good meaty pork neck bones cooked up with some fresh snap beans, fried potaoes and onions and corn bread. That's just good eatin'!
