I used one sliced yellow onion which I cooked in oil in the saucepan before adding 400ml apricot nectar (didn't have preserves and I substituted 1tbsp grated fresh ginger for the powdered. "Excellent recipe! I added French Lentils as follows: 1 cup dried lentils covered with 3 cups water cooked 20 minutes on stovetop. Drain. Add to meat mixture. I also cook in a 13x9 pan so it cooks in about 30 minutes. Thank you so much for posting!"
