    About Me

    I work full time in an oncology office Monday through Friday and for the last 12 years I have worked a 12 hour shift every Sunday at The Heart Hospital to make ends meet.  I am committed to caring for the family and my four dachsunds.  My one day off is spent in the laundry room, in the kitchen and grocery store.  I love working in my flower beds when time allows.  I have been interested in cooking since my parents let me start at age 8.  I have to coordinate my meals carefully as time is so limited.  I get home at 6pm and I must make a non-complicated meal within an hour or have something in the crockpot.  My son and daughter are beginning to show an interest in cooking so I am compiling recipes from Zaar to help them learn to make new recipes as much as for my enjoyment and use. 

    Favorite Foods

    I love a good pot roast or spaghetti dinner but I also have an adventurer's spirit and like to try new things.  I love vegetable soups.  My favorite local restaurant is Brave New.  Peter Brave does wonders with locally grown vegetables and fish.  My fame is limited to my family.  My son loves my chili.  My husband is diabetic and needs to lose weight so I try to keep the fats and creams in recipes to a minimum.  My kids are gym rats and are very conscious of their proteins and carbs.  I applaud their efforts to be healthy.
