I'm an attorney (working as a trust officer and looking for a job I like better and that pays better!), married, with a 6-year-old son and a newborn son. I'm originally from Louisiana, but currently live south of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I've been cooking since I was old enough to see the top of the stove - my mother was a home economics teacher, and she believed in starting me off early.
I work full-time, and I'm also trying to start my own little business, Bright Blessings Candles! I make candles and wax melts and a variety of bath goodies.
I can cook most anything if I have a recipe, but some of my specialties include lasagna, crawfish etouffee and pepper steak. My favorite restaurants include Pappadeaux (Dallas), Star Canyon (new Southwest cuisine, here in Dallas - fabulous, but now sadly gone forever), Commander's Palace (New Orleans, LA, and who knows when it will reopen), Ralph and Kacoo's (New Orleans), Nick's (Greek restaurant in Waco, Texas - not there anymore, unfortunately), Vito's (Italian restaurant in Waco, Texas) - too many to name!
