    About Me

I found zaar searching for a special recipe, what I found was so much more. This is a community of people as diverse as you can find anywhere in the world. I love the recipes I find, and I'm also grateful for the friends I've made here.

I love living ?just far enough? outside of a major metropolitan city, to have enough of the ?city influence? in our restaurant choices and also to be able to drive in for things like museums, shows, football games and other important cultural events (LOL) yet I can drive the same distance in the opposite direction (a little less even) and be at an organic orchard buying peaches in the summer, and off to the ?meat guy? who raises the best tasting pigs I?ve ever eaten!

We have what my Mom calls an ?Established feeder? in the back yard. I don?t really know what that means, but when my honey goes out to refill the bird feeder, they hang out in the trees around him chattering to alert their friends that dinner?s served.

Our backyard critters vary greatly hour by hour? we?ve given some of the returning characters nick names, like ?fat boy? the ground hog and ?fat boy, Jr.? who took fat boy?s place when he stopped coming around? (I know, I don?t like to think about his untimely passing?brings a tear to my eye *sniff, sniff*)

I love food? which precipitated my love for cooking? I also had and have great predecessors in the kitchen, and I?m so lucky to have learned so much from my Mom, my Grandmom, my Nan as well as My Dad and both Grand Fathers?

It took me 38 years to develop my current philosophies of life (ripped off sayings and quotes that they are)
    Don?t sweat the small stuff
If you can?t say anything nice, don?t say anything at all
Stick and stones may break my bones?
And my favorite by Maya Angelou
Life loves to be taken by the lapel and told: "I am with you kid. Let's go."

Thank you to everyone who has tried my recipes, reviewed or not, I hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

    Favorite Foods

My list of "don't like's" is much shorter: I can't eat lima beans... I had a traumatic experience as a kid. I can't eat sea urchin roe...can't get over the texture. I come across lima's more than sea urchin roe though LOL. "Cheesesteak" hot pockets are nothing like a cheese steak and they shouldn't be permitted to call them that. Other than that, I pretty much will try anything at least once.
