"I love the bain-marie technique and I love this dish! Having been a NAVY brat, I didn't grow up eating a lot of seafood but after 10 years in Alaska, who wouldn't love smoked salmon. I was a little bad on my diet since I added a little dollop of cream cheese into the eggs as they cooked. MMM MMM Good!"

"I admit I am not much of a non-deep fat fried shrimp fan but with the aioli and chorizo, it wasn't bad. Added extra garlic, of course, and I actually did not make a sandwich, I made a salad. Scooping it into a lettuce leaf cup, it stood on its own along with a side of Rice-A-Roni and a side of mixed stir-fry veggies."

"I loved this salad!!!! I made one change though - I cut back on the mayonnaise and added Dijon mustard. Mayo and salad dressings are not a favorite and so I used the mustard to give it a bit more flavor. The meat combination is perfect. I am thinking next time of adding a few chopped green olives. MMMMMMMMMMM!!!!"

"This recipe is delicious. Kind of like an unusual vichyssoise that is eaten straight off of the stove. Served with a side of Fried Chicken when I made it but it could be a one pot meal with shredded chicken or ham cubes along with the bacon."

"I had rated another German recipe and mentioned I was out of bacon....now I know where it went - straight into this dish. I chopped the cabbage into coleslaw type pieces and it was so much easier to handle in the cooking pot than the previous one that had me quartering the cabbage. This dish is one that actually gets better the next day so make ex..."

"Wonderful dish - simple to make and quick to eat. Didn't have any bacon or ham but did have a few bratwursts in the freezer so I quickly cooked them up and sliced them into thin slices. Wunderbar!!! Eggs, meat, and bread - the perfect meal!!!"

"I followed the recipe up to the final stir-fry and then I added 4 eggs which I scrambled along with the potatoes. Talk about a great meal!! I wasn't in the mood to make a big production out of dinner so I just went with simple and tasty. The seasonings were perfect. I did use fennel from the bulb since I could not find any with leaves. Sliced like..."

"Had a glitch with the previous review....got sent before I could praise the dish. Maybe it deserves 2 reviews of 5 stars : I have to admit it was good. Instead of thin slices I diced the ham into small cubes so I could use chopsticks. Served over brown rice. Very easy to make and will definitely be made again!!!"

"To me, I though of the soup as a kind of sweet and sour soup which I thought was very tasty. I had to add more of the red chili in the chili oil to the soup to bring it up to my level of spicy. I like it hot. Otherwise, a very good soup for a cold winters day. Made for Chinese/Vietnamese New Years Tag Game 2012."

"I used sake instead of the michiu and it came out very well. The alcohol cooks out and leaves the sweet flavors of the sake and the sesame oil in a kind of dark caramel sauce. The chicken was very good and I would make it again. Made for Chinese/Vietnamese New years Tag Game 2012."
