I live in Franklin, Indiana. I learned to cook at the Upperline in New Orleans under good old Chef Tom Cowman. I now do "whatever is needed" at the restaurant owned by friends-all the desserts, including frozen things, teach cooking classes, catering, group bookings, grow the herb garden...you name it.
Favorite dish to cook: Red Beans and Rice, Greens and Pot Likker, Cornbread, anything else ridiculously simple that can be remarkable if done well.
I am famous for My Lemon Pie, My Chocolate Whiskey Gelato, My Butter Pecan Cake with Butter Pecan Ice Cream, My roast chicken, roasted tomatoes, roasted vegetable soup. My gumbo, my jambalays-holy cow.
My favorite restaurant? Two Sisters Kitchen, on Derbigny St., New Orleans, LA. These people don't even use recipes-and they don't need 'em.
