    About Me

I like to cook, but as a mom of two busy kids, and as a part-time worker and part-time grad student, I don't have time to cook. I like quick healthy recipes, especially those that make good left overs! Here in N. CA I can use my outdoor gas grill year round, so I love grilling.
I am always on the lookout for a good Starbucks Mocha recipe that doesn't require an espresso machine.
My passions are injury prevention, scrapbooking, gardening, and the environmnet.
I own way too many cookbooks, but can't seem to let go of them. My favorite cookbook is the one with a collection of favorite recipies that came from family, friends or I collected from magazines, borrowed cookbooks, etc. Otherwise I would have to say the 1983 version of Joy of Cooking I received as a wedding gift is my favorite. You can always find a basic recipie for anything.
People love my pies. They think my crust is great. I learned how to make a great crust from Joy of Cooking. Read how to make a great crust, then use their recipe. You can't go wrong. Plus I put my butter/shortening mix in the freezer for about 30 minutes to make it nice and cold.
