"I usually never cook with black beans but bought one tin just to try it once.

Well, one can was not enough for this soup and I added one can of chick peas but otherwise followed the recipe.

The taste was super and I will make it again."

"I make this recipe for several year's now, I also got it from the Taste of Home magazine.( Oct./Nov. 2001 It deserves five star's because it's very fast to prepare and has a wonderful tast. For me 2 or 3 can's of diced tomatoes are enough. To get more liquid I add a little water or chicken broth. I think every cabbage lover will like it."

"My aunt used to make it as a ligth evening snack. It can be made in advance and when needed just place it into the preheated oven. Not the broiler. For my daughter I omitted the pineapple, but everyone else just loved it. I only use cherries sometimes. Try it. "
