"I made this vegan by using margarine and 1 tbs. of egg/tbs. of water combo instead of egg. I was really good out of the oven. It was soggy in the middle but still so yummy. I think it would be better cooked in an 8x8 pan so it wouldn't be so thick in the middle. The longer it sat the better it tasted. This recipe is a keeper."

"I followed the recipe (using margarine but I put all the batter into an 8x8 pan and baked it for about 27 minutes. They turned out great. The recipe is sweet and moist with just the right amount of spice."

"This was so tasty and moist. I used two cups of white breadmaker flour and 1 cup of wheat with 1/2 tbs. of gluten. It turned out great right out of my bread machine."
