    About Me

I live in a suburb on Chicago, IL. I never really cooked as a kid. I think my Mom found it easier to send us kids out to play so we wouldn't get in her way in the kitchen. Later, since my husband likes to cook, I didn't cook much when I got older, either. He makes a mean Creme Brulee. Now I am trying new things and enjoying it very much. Things don't always come out right the first time, so I do it again a different way. Cooking is kind of creative, isn't it?

    Favorite Foods

I like making homemade marinara sauce from tomatoes and other vegetables in my garden. You know, the kind that you have to blanch the tomatoes and peel the skin. I use it in a nice lasagna. I also use veggies from my garden in pizza with an easy homemade pizza dough. I like pao de queijo, a Brazilian cheesey bread ball that I first discovered in Picanha restaurant in Burbank, CA. I like trying new things. I love the Food Network, especially recipes by Giada DeLaurentiis. I love making things from scratch. I need to try making pasta. I am trying heathier dishes with lots of veggies, soups, and some fish dishes. They're not bad. I can really learn to like them.
