    About Me

Transplanted from the deep north to the toe of the boot, I've learned a lot about New Orleans-style cooking in three years! My fave cookbook--gosh, do I have to pick only one??? Nah, who's counting? I love Martha Stewart's Baking Book, La Bouche Creole I, Easy Basics for International Cooking, Hot Beignets and Warm Boudoirs (Chef John Folse), and there's a Michigan Cookbook that I love but can't remember the name. I love to paint in watercolors, Jesus, my fam.
Pet peeves are a waste of time.

    Favorite Foods

I LOVE freshly baked BREADS, all seafoods, fried chicken, egg foo yung, tamales, good cheesecake, sweet potatoes, lasagne, cheese straws or savory shortbread, flan, turkey or chicken and stuffing, pumpkin pie, Yugoslavian Nut Horns, fruitcake, Clam Chowder and Shrimp Po-Boys. And don't forget that wonderful Crab Corn & Shrimp Soup! I'm probably best-known for my pies and for my beer and garlic-marinated beef roast. My fave restaurant is currently Brennan's Palace Cafe, with Brigtsen's a close second in NOLA. Then back up north to Rowe Inn and then the Grand Rapids Charlie's Crab. All excellent!
