I graduated culinary school in April of 2005 in Fort Worth Texas. I've been a pharmacy technician for 25 years, but have always loved cooking. I also enjoy singing with my local chapter of the barbershop harmony society. I teach pharmacy technicians at one of the local colleges, and have used many recipes from this site for our compounding class.
My favorite foods are Chinese, (as far as cooking chinese, I leave that to the professionals!) mexican, and southwestern. Being from Texas I have specialized in BBQ, but I'm wanting to expand more to southwestern, and Caribbean. I especially like "jerk" chicken and pork. I own my own catering business called "Jon Appetit" and do that on the side whenever I can. I guess my favorite ingredient is cilantro. I always get kidded by friends and family, because I hate parsley, and will always substitute cilantro for parsley. My favorite chef, Alton Brown, says you can't do that, but I've never had a problem with it. Do what you like!
