"I used butter flavor Crisco instead of butter, whole wheat flour and no sugar and got an excellent result. The bread was very hearty and held up well when dumped in the leftovers and reheated. A really excellent side with stews or gravys. I like it right out of the pan."

"I made these for chicken and dumplings. They are easy to mix and cook and yeild an excellent dumpling. I live close to PA Dutch country and would say they are as good as anything I can get there. I just added them to the plate and poured the entry over them. Quick and easy."

"I didn't add the italian seasoning and I only went through the first three steps. I made some scratch dumplings and tossed them in for as good a chicken and dumplings as I've ever eaten in a restaraunt in PA Dutch country. Very easy to make my way and as I said, really good."
