    Reviewed Tuesday Night White Beans

"This has been a favorite of mine for a couple of yrs now. I got it from the same book! I put a scoop of cooked spinach in the middle of the bowl. Add a slice of cornbread on the side and you've got a great meal!"

Reviewed In the Pantry Tuna-Rice Casserole

"I didn't have macaroni for a regular tuna casserole, so using rice instead sounded like a nice idea. I used cream of mushroom soup. I wanted to use the remainder of cheddar cheese I had, but didn't. Decided to use the only crackers I had (Ritz). That added a bit of a sweet taste, but it didn't hurt this dish's possibilities with me. It's a keeper. ..."

Reviewed South African Yellow Rice With Cinnamon and Raisins

"Hard to believe, only one other review?!!! This was amazingly delicious! Very nice detour from the usual rice pilaf choices. Served it along w/ Simply Delicious Crock Pot Pork Loin. My house smelled so divine! Thanks for sharing!"

Reviewed Simply Delicious Crock Pot Pork Loin

"Simply scrumptious! I wanted to do something different with the 2-3 lbs of pork cuts I had stored away in my freezer. I forgot to label the type of pork I had, but I usually use it for bar-b-q pulled pork. I cooked mine on high setting. It was tender enough after 3 1/2 hrs. I shredded the meat, and let cook another 1/2 hr. The house smelled sooo go..."

    Reviewed Sour Cream Banana Bread

"Yummy!!! If only I hadn't shared my banana bread with my neighbor! I could be munching on those slices right now! Seriously, I love being able to use the oil, instead of the butter...and no mention of nuts, which I don't like in my banana bread. This one's definitely a keeper! Thanks so much for sharing!"

Reviewed Ww Core Italian Chicken Cacciatore

"Okay, I didn't have any tomato paste, only no-salt-added tomato sauce...I added a tsp of salt. I had to use stewed tomatoes instead of diced. I only had one green pepper and onion. Still it was an excellent dish! I can only imagine how much better it would've been, had I all the right ingredients. I look forward to trying this again. Thanks for sha..."

    Reviewed Cajun Baked Sweet Potato

"I peeled and cut the potatoes into chunks. Tossed with olive oil, then spices. Took a little less baking time. I made this with my friend, who loves spicy food, in mind. Well, turns out he doesn't care that much for sweet potatoes. I, on the other hand, love sweet potatoes, but not so much, the spicy foods. If you like both, I believe this recipe w..."

Reviewed Quick Oat Bran and Banana Muffins

"I guess I expected something else, but these were too bland for me. More like a plain oat bran muffin w/ soft chunks of banana. However my friend said he enjoyed them w/ his morning cup of coffee."

    About Me

I live in Northern California. I have two birds and a dog.

I love to check cookbooks out of the library. Many of the cookbooks I own were either bought or passed down from my mother. My favorite cookbooks are those that carry a collection of recipes from everyday people like Recipezaar does. I love trying new recipes. It feels like a human connection with other great cooks of the world. Thank you all for your contributions!

I like to try a recipe the way the cook presented it at first, anytime thereafter I might make changes if I'd like to add or omit something.

I admit I'm not an adventurous cook. My imagination is limited. I'm drawn to recipes I believe will taste good. I usually know how to pick what I would like. The favorable ratings help a lot also, by allowing me to step out of that comfort zone and experiment more with food. Add my own touches. Create my own dishes. Try new things. Above all, have fun with food, like great cooks do.

I love Recipezaar. I am addicted to this site.

    Favorite Foods

My favorite comfort dish to cook is spaghetti with meat sauce.

What my family and friends love about my cooking is that I can find a way to cook up a dish item which they never thought they'd like. For example, chicken livers...well, after I've cooked them, if I can convince them to at least try it, they're in love with chicken livers.

My motto: Don't knock it if you haven't tried it.
