    Reviewed Savory Sausage Quick Skillet

"I used this as a launching pad... used breakfast link sausage that was on the spicy side so ended up skipping the Old Bay and garlic. I can;t have corn so I sub;d diced green beans. Then I knew that I was pushing hubby;s palate so I served it with boiled potatoes that we mashed on the plate with this over the top. It was OK but an un..."

Reviewed Vegetable Stock Tips: Free and Always on Hand

"Thanks for posting this. I;m not faithful about saving all veggies but do save onion and celery and use them when I make chicken stock. You have inspired me to broaden my horizons a bit. I don;t agree that this can be water-bath canned though. Vegetables are low-acid and need to be pressure canned. It would be best to just refrigerate or ..."

    About Me

I am married and spend my time as a "home manager." [This is the PC way of saying that I'm a homemaker :o)]

I now have TWO daughters who love to ask for candy... sigh. But they also are willing to eat many proteins and veggies so I shouldn't complain.
I have always loved to cook and I like to try new things. It is hard for me to stick to a recipe though... I'm always changing things which is why I chose "Chef Tweaker".
Reviews: I follow the suggestions that are on the stars.

    4 Stars = Loved it
    3 Stars = Liked it
    2 Stars = OK
    1 Star = Didn't Like it
No Star = Posting a comment only (I use this when I've tweaked too much!)

Pet Peeves: Recipe ingredients not written in the order required in the recipe.

    Favorite Foods

I like to cook healthy... Whole grains, vegetables, tofu etc. but my DH was brought up in a family that didn't know that fiber existed. I have been spending our 10 years of marriage trying to get him to eat what I like to cook. He's getting better and maybe I'm getting better at offering him some of his favorites as well.

    Cooking Tips:
Some things aren't really recipes but I don't want to forget them...
To soften butter out of the fridge, microwave on full power for 14 seconds.

Freeze bananas whole for smoothies. Microwave for 30 seconds and they can be peeled and the are still semi-frozen to put into the smoothie.
