New Topic 72 hour kits in Emergency Food/Supplies
"I recently went through our 72 hour kits only to realize it's been probably 4 yrs since I put them together. My boys obviously don't wear the same size they wore 4 yrs ago. As I was putting their backpacks back together - I realized after the clothes, etc. - there was NO room for food!
What do you put your food in for your grab-n-go packs?

I live on the Oregon Coast with husband and four boys. I am able to stay at home with them and hold down the fort. I have many cookbooks which I enjoy searching through for our family favorites. I recently started working as a home health care worker for seniors with disabilities (which I absolutely love), I love to quilt, crochet, bake, read, garden, watch the rain (which happens quite frequently here) and play with my kids.
I am passionate about canning, canning, canning. I will admit I like "admiring" all the hard work after the jars are placed on the shelves. hehee I am all for "if I can make it myself" I will. Yes...I am frugal. I also love to bake. Especially homemade bread. I will continue to do so until arthritis takes over my hands. Then I will use more of the mixer for the kneading part.
All recipes I post are ones I've made and are our famiy favorites.
I love pretty flowers. These flowers grace our yard every year. I could watch them all day long and be perfectly content!

My most favorite dishes to make are Chinese dishes. I am famous for Sweet and Sour Chicken and Crepes. My kids also request my waffles on a regular basis and my homemade pizza. My favorite restaurant would have to be a really good Chinese restaurant.
I also like my great-grandma's spaghetti sauce with a thick slice of garlic bread. Mmmmmmm. A nice stack of buttermilk pancakes with butter and syrup are pretty tasty too...
So is a nice thick blackened steak. And a nice warm cinnamon roll straight from the oven. Or a hot bowl of black bean soup and breadsticks on a cold winter evening. Definitely toasted oatmeal bread with homemade jam tops my list as well....
