    Reviewed Alton Brown's Baked Potato

"Absolutely amazing - I have always loved baked potatoes in restaurants but never could achieve the same result at home. My potatoes were always too dry or too moist on the outside - the insides were always a surprise. This recipe turns out perfect potatoes every time - better than a restaurant. I put some white truffle oil in with the canola and..."

"This is a recipe from Sunset Magazine. I made them this past weekend and they are the most moist and delicious muffins I've ever eaten. Low fat and healthy but don't let that put you off. :)"

"An easy and decadent dessert - very good after Ravioli Lasagna Rustico and Caesar Salad Simpliciatto. Most ingredients are from Trader Joe's but I'm sure other brands have them too."

    About Me

I guess it's been awhile since I've updated my info, so here we go.

I live on 10 acres outside San Luis Obispo with my hubby and our 4 cats. Sam is my icon cat. He's very old now so unfortunately does not look like the icon cat anymore. Bob, the feral cat that is the biggest and clumsiest goofball in the world.   Big Red, an overweight sweetie that is partially tame, especially at mealtime and Spook - another feral - pure black with yellow eyes. Our little Dash passed away about three years ago at 18 months and broke our hearts in the process. There's a picture of her on my Soups & Stews cookbook.

I love to cook and garden and now that I am semi-retired, I have more time to do both.

My husband is a willing guinea pig for my cooking and since he's still among the living, I guess I haven't had too many klunkers. This site is the best thing since sliced bread. All my cookbooks are now for display only. I only use 4 and 5 star reviews - why hurt someone's feelings with a mediocre or bad review. Just don't make the dish again.

    Favorite Foods

Being raised in Texas and then New Mexico, I will always have a passion for Mexican food. Living in California has taught me the delights of sushi and all different types of seafood. Then, of course, there's Italian - and Thai - and - and - and. I guess I am just a total food junkie.
