Hi all :) I'm Mattie from Melbourne, Australia. My background is Greek and my mother taught me to cook greek dishes well, although I like cooking different types of food, from asian to mexican. I don't have a fav cookbook, but I collect recipies from everywhere. My passion is travelling to tropical exotic countries and basking in the sun next to a pool sipping on a cocktail and shopping in open air markets, you'll always find something different there. What I dislike the most is rude, obnoxious people. Treat people as you like to be treated - my mother also drummed that into me from a very young age, god bless her :)
Baked cheescake, but not often, past the lips straight to the hips! My most famous dish would have to be chilli and poppyseed calamari, asian tasting with a touch of greek. My favourite restaurant is a small malaysian place called Chinta Ria, it's in Ackland Street, St. Kilda, if you're ever in Melbourne it's a must try, the Beef Rendang is the best I've ever tasted. Changing the subject ... the best spaghetti carbonara I've ever had was in Bangkok at the Watergate Amari Restaurant, how bizarre but man oh man did it leave me with a good impression!
