"This dish has been in my regular rotation since I tried it the day ellrgee posted it. I use andouille sausage and skipped the saffron (it's so expensive, but I will add it one of these days since I hear paella isn't paella without it and it tastes like I put a lot more work into it than I actually did. It's a pretty dish, too."

"Finger lickin' good! I used a bit more sugar and I didn't have buttermilk, so I used whole milk (this time only and this is still the best tasting, best textured cornbread I've ever made. For years, I followed the recipe on the bag of cornmeal and wondered why it always came out dry and bland. Not anymore."

"I can't say enough about this cake!! My co-workers BEG me to bake this cake and complain when it's all gone. It's funny watching a group of otherwise civilized folks, elbowing each other to get a slice of my cake. I love it! It's quite a compliment when, rather than not have a taste at all, someone scrapes the crumbs off of your cake plate at the ..."

"I used about 2 lbs. ground turkey and used 1/4 cup uncooked oatmeal instead of break crumbs and 2 instead of 3 slices bacon, added salt, pepper, 1/4 tsp. cumin, pinch of garlic, 1/2 diced green bell pepper. With 10 min. of baking time left, I poured 1/4 to 1/2 cup bbq sauce over the loaf. Scrumptous soul food. Served with steamed cabbage and yello..."

I forgot the cayenne pepper and this was still delicious. Next time, I'll follow the recipe to the letter for even better results. Thanks, Lennie."

"I followed the recipe exactly as written for the 4th of July, but my guests barely ate it. I thought it was DIFFERENT, but not anything I'd try again. The chili powder took over the mango taste."

"I made this for the 4th of July and everybody liked it. One of my guests, a graduate of culinary school, (oohlala : gave it a big thumbs up. I used 1 tblsp of Old Bay, but followed everything else as given. I'm making it for the office potluck tomorrow. Thanks for another winner, Kitten."

"It just wasn't good and I spent another ten minutes trying to fix this bland and bitter mess. I finally ended up converting it into a Watermelon Margarita; adding about 1 1/2 cups of watermelon, 1 tbsp sugar, extra tequila and triple sec. The finished product was a decent boozy concoction that served me and my guest well today, but I won't use th..."
