Reviewed Carne Asada (Gerardo's Baja Grill, California)
"Oh yummy! I must confess I used chicken breast ...so no longer carne asada but the marinade was perfect!! I just used strips of chicken and placed foil on the grill. Served in soft flour tortillas w/ all the family faves...sour cream, avocado, diced white onion and no one touched the salsa because it was just that good! Thanks!"

I am lucky & blessed to have attended a great culinary school. I worked as a private chef for a bit. I am not working outside the home right now &am enjoying time with my teen. Looking forward to instructing some low key cooking classes in my community. This site has so many creative & friendly people. Visiting always inspires me! Want to thank all of you who take the time to post & review recipes. I really enjoy recipes that are passed down from loved ones, I like to think they have good memories attached. Also enjoy recipes from foreign countries.
I am a huge animal lover. We only have 2 dogs right now but they keep us busy and laughing. I would have a farm of strays if I could & hope to some day. Love people who adopt & help animals. Despise cruelty , including puppy mills, spectator sports that cause fear or ill treatment of animals, and factory farming.
I like camping, swimming, kayaking, walking for excersise, reading( pretty much anything from classics to magazines), watching movies, going to swap meets & farmer's markets. I was a military brat so I was able to live in beautiful places such as Okinawa & Korea. We love going to Sedona & camping outside of Payson.
Cooking is often something we need to do but I love those times when I can just cook whatever I want! I like to put on some classical music, pour a glass of wine & just chop & saute.
Oh so many fave foods! I adore Mexican food authentic & bastardized. Same with Italian.I Love making & eating soups. Sadly fried anything is yummy! Sushi is a must have. Mostly I am crazy about trying small portions of many foods, like @ a food festival or Tappas bar. Really like vegitarian foods that are freshly prepared. Easier to say what I don't like...foi gras, low fat chemical filled stuff posing as healthy, and bland stuff.
My family loves my ground trukey tacos, prime rib (humanely raised & slaughtered & only on special occasions ) asian style salad, lasagne, and pretty much anything I toss with pasta! Oh and my Mom's long time friend taught me how to make the best gyoza ever, my teen & friends beg for that!
I am crazy about non chain food places that are owned by food lovers like Red Koi or Bacci here in Gilbert. I love 2 little hole in the wall places here also, Buritto Shack & Higley Hot Dog. I like Ruby Tuesday's salad bar & most everything @ Old Spaghetti Factory.
