    About Me

I moved to the US with my husband in August 2008, after many years in Norway. I come from the Ukraine originally, so I'm familiar with a variety of cooking traditions and styles.
I was totally uninterested in cooking until my early twenties, when I started dating my husband and wanted to impress him by my good housekeeping skills. Ideally, I would like to prepare everything from scratch. However, realizing that it would be an equivalent to a second full-time job, I try to find the golden middle and use healthful ingredients for all our meals.
Some things that I'm hoping to do in the future are experimenting with new ingredients and new dishes, adding variety to our diet in general, and giving traditional full-fat and white flour recipes a healthy makeover without compromising the taste.

    Favorite Foods

Coffee and chocolate are the two things I have to have daily. I love all kinds and varieties of bread. Otherwise I am completely omivorous. Some of the dinner staples in our house are pasta dishes with my homemade sauce, baked potato wedges, soups, veggie burgers with home-made buns and a wide variety of stir-fries made of whatever vegetables I can dig out of my fridge.
