Reviewed Greek Cucumber - Tomato and Onion Salad
"Not leaving any stars because I changed it up quite a bit, based on what I had available. I used organic apple cider instead of red wine. I used crumbled herbed goat cheese instead of feta. I left out the olives, put in a pinch of salt and some minced garlic with the oil and vinegar, sprinkled some Splenda over it and marinated it for an hour or..."

Reviewed My Homemade Sloppy Joes
"Yum. Like some of the others, I didn't put this in a crockpot. I did make it in an electric skillet and let it cook on low for a couple hours. It was super. My son ate two sandwiches, so that says a lot in itself. Thanks for posting!"

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by. I'm a retired US Navy wife and proud mom of two wonderful teen boys. Our oldest used to be the Color Guard Commander of his NJROTC drill team. At the urging of my fellow Zaarites, I have kept the name.
I have to include on my page how much I love my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I'm so thankful for the salvation offered through His sacrifice.
In spring 2005 my Mother passed away. I miss her TONS. She had cirrhosis, due to NASH. In the fall of 2005 I was diagnosed with NASH, stage 3 fibrosis of the liver. The only "treatment" for this is weight loss and exercise. I have to eat healthy and exercise every day for the rest of my life...but that's okay - it's a good habit to get into. Some times the lessons we learn from others is not always the lesson we want to have to learn...does that make sense? I hate that it took my Mom dying before I took this liver disease seriously.
I've enjoyed being a part of Zaar and look forward to many more years with my friends here. I've had the privilege of meeting Puppitypup, Tia Mouse, Happy Harry 2, Mareesme, Need Help, Can't Cook, Shirl J (831), 4 H Mom, Foxysnana and Mydesigirl too!
I love food, so can't really say what my favorite is. That all depends on my moods. I really like Greek food, and since I'm not any good at cooking it - it's an even bigger treat when I do get it. There's a super gyro place here and we try to go there a few times a year.
