    About Me

I live in and am caretaker of a 100-year-old house in historic St. Charles, MO, and I love it.

I have a 8 YO son, who keeps me very busy (I'm assistant Den leader in his Cub Scouts). I have three Maltese babies, and a Persian cat. Can you say FUR?

I am a recipe and cookbook addict.

DH (of three years) is a vegetarian. I'm honoring his choice in our house, serving only vegetarian meals. This is a challenge for me, and I'm always looking for recipes that he and my son will eat. I think I must be dreaming!

I LOVE to bake, and am hoping I'll catch on with the new style of cooking.

    Favorite Foods

My current favorite recipe is for Enchilada Suiza (I'll have to post it someday). WONDERFUL!

At work, I'm starting to become known for my Mardi Gras King Cakes. I make the version with cream cheese. I get requests to make it for other occasions, such as birthdays and baseball?s Opening Day LOL!

I'm so burned out on restaurants! We had our kitchen remodeled three years ago, and I totally fell out of the habit of cooking. Combine that with the excuse of learning to cook vegetarian and my busy after-work schedule, and my natural wish to be served, and any other convenient EXCUSE, eating out had become the norm. I am now ready to really start cooking again!
