I am originally from Seattle. I lived in Las Vegas for several years where I met my husband who is from Quebec. We moved here two years ago and I love the beauty of it. I find that I love cooking more and more. I previously worked as a software developer, but now I am home with my son, the teenager - ack, and young twins. When I have extra time, I enjoy reading, writing, sewing, quilting, embroidery, ink painting, hiking and gardening. As a provider of nutrition for my family I believe in balance. We eat a large variety of foods and I thrill at the adventure of creating a recipe with new and familiar ingredients.
I have recently started frequenting the OAMC/Cooking on a Budget forum. I have not ventured doing a day of cooking meals for a month, but I have taken the habit of making double or triple recipes and freezing the extra. It has worked well to stockpile my freezer with ready meals. What a time and money saver!
I am a fiend for Mexican foods! I love to cook just about anything and use fresh ingredients as much as possible. I think the food processor is the greatest invention since the knife. I believe the best part of cooking is how the whole house fills with the smell of spices and ingredients cooking. Of course, the taste is highly important too!
