    My Journal

I have no recent activity to share.

    About Me

I live in beautiful neighborhood, deep in sunny San diego. Being surrounded by cultures unfamiliar to me, Only increases my desires to cook and prepare more creative, unique dishes for my family. I have twin boys, who have recently turned 3. If you are acquainted with San diego you could have guessed my husband is in the Navy. With many Navy and Marine bases surrounding us.
I feel more connected to the English cooking, and culture. My favorite cookbooks are ALL from Nigella Lawson. (if anyone has any more recommendations I plead with you to let me know!)
I also, naturally, enjoy to scour through my grandmother's old cookbooks. The dishes I ate as a child amongst old-time meals set from scratch.
With my gastronomical tastes ever so changing, it's hard to keep my fork down.

My job is only to raise my twin boys, keep them fed...and if you're a mother yourself you know that is plenty to keep you busy. For fun? I cook. My children are aware that if mommy is in the kitchen, especially far too long, there are goodies awaiting!

    Favorite Foods

I love fruit and simple, delicate flavors. Sweet scones smothered with raspberry preserves. Strawberries and cream. Custard, juicy peaches, striking kiwi. Put it in my path and I will devour it.

I suppose you could say I have a sweet tooth. I wont deny it. My dentist would surely agree with you.

My husband and children love mainly chicken dishes. I love beef. Scandinavian, Russian, Dutch, and English styles all catch my eye. Okay Okay, to be fair I will just say European. I cannot choose just one recipe as my favorite. (Try the Scandinavian dinner from Nigella Lawson's Feast. the marinated steak is to die for!) There is not a sausage in the world I would not eat. My new-found joy is trying different styles of hamburger. I have yet to try it Aussie style, so bear with me.

How could I compile a list of my favorite foods without including tea? Shocking of me to say that it's the only thing I could never pour over sugar. My collection of tea is immense.

The dish I am famous for has to be my brownies. I really dont know if we could keep a pan of them in the kitchen longer than a day.
I have no favorite restaurant, however, I cannot pass an old-fashioned American diner without having a peek.
