    About Me

I was raised in a family that loves to travel, meet people from other countries, and taste new foods. We are quite 'international' - my brother's wife is Indian, my sister's husband is Swiss and my DS's GF is of Swedish origin. My little dogs are of German origin - miniature dachshunds :-) - and my DH is an NZer.

Presently my favourite cookbook is Quick and Easy Indian Cooking by Madhur Jaffrey, but that is liable to change as I often raid my library for new and interesting cookbooks.

    Favorite Foods

My favourite foods are Asian (particularly Indian, Vietnamese, Indonesian and Thai), Mediterranean, Mexican, and anything spicy. Both my husband and I enjoy cooking, although whereas I love to try new dishes, he prefers to cook those which are 'tried and true'. I love preparing new dishes that involve roasting and grinding lots of exotic spices and inhaling the aromas.

I dislike any food that is processed, packaged and tastes nothing like the real thing. I don't use canned soups when I cook (although I make an exception for canned tomato soup!)and I am not particularly fond of blue cheese, goat's cheese or cherry tomatoes (I hate that explosion when taking a bite.) I draw the line at tripe and brains :-)
