Reviewed Irish Blue Cheese and Tomato Soup
"This was a big hit with both adults and kids. I too just used the bacon fat instead of butter, but reduced the fat to approx 2 tbsp. I followed the recipe but blended the soup before adding the blue cheese."

Reviewed Nif's Pork Cutlets
"This dish is simple and delish and was just what I needed for a quick Thursday dinner; I added parsley to my flour mix and used about 1/4 cup of flour, and 1/2 cup bread crumbs. I also just stirred up an egg (white yolk) for the sake of ease and one was just the perfect amount. Used butter for frying the pork chops."

Reviewed Polenta Beef Stew
"This dish is just AMAZING - I would give it 10 stars if I could. The whole family loved it. The depth of flavour is just fantastic! I cut back on the carrots and added celery and mushrooms as well. I omitted the boiling onions and the tomato paste. Just loved the spices, red wine and everything else about this dish and it pairs perfectly with the p..."

Reviewed Chocolaty and Gooey Brownies
"I made these brownies as listed except for omitting the nuts. After adding some (not full quantity) of the marshmallows I found that it got quite messy. I ended up scraping the marchmallows off and just leaving a thin glazy layer. I then added the frosting. I found the frosting to be the best part of the recipe. The brownies themselves were to us m..."

Reviewed Barbecued Garlic and Herb Mushrooms
"I took the basics of this recipe and cooked the mushrooms in a bit different way. I chopped them up finely and roasted with the herbs and butter (not oil) in a pan and served over baquette slices. The flavours were just yummy."

I live in Toronto, Canada with my hubby and 2 girls 12 and 10 years and our dog. I am of Danish origin and have some standard Danish recipes that I love to serve to my familly. But mostly our food is international.
I love foods from around the world and to try out new recipes, anything flavourful and colourful will attract my attention.
My favorite food is Mexican.
UPDATE - after almost a year on Zaar I am now an official addict much to the delight of my family! I have made many new recipes, by far most of them 5 star worthy and I have a constant source of inspiration to 'what's for dinner?' I love the rating system, reading comments and participating in the tag games.
My ratings:
5 stars - l will give to recipes that are loved by all or most of the family - or perhaps just by ME :D - but since I am the one cooking I have veto rights. Will make again.
4 stars - I will give to recipes that lacked flavours or the flavours did not suit our tastes or that I wish to alter more than just a little; or it could be because if incomplete instructions to an otherwise good recipe
3 stars - I will give to incomplete recipes that somehow do not work out at all because of lacking ingredients, instructions etc
1-2 stars - I don't believe in giving less than 3 stars. You can get the message accross with 3 stars or with a reiew without a star rating.
Mexican; anything new, colourful and flavourful
