    About Me

I am a vegetarian who uses very little organic skim milk. I avoid eggs, cheese and dairy fats. I do not use processed food if I can help it. My focus is on organic fresh foods and whole grains. The more locally I can get them the better.
I get plenty of protein from the plant foods that I enjoy. I love to take the cooking classes offered at Central Market and enjoy turning them into vegan style delights!
I am an organic gardener, a Texas Master Gardener and am currently working on my Master Composting certification.

    Favorite Foods

Any kind of fresh fruit! Hearty soups and stews, chock full of antioxidants, served with crusty peasant style breads! Fresh tomatoes and sugar snap peas plucked off of my own plants. Fresh herbs from my garden such as basil, oregano and mint. All kinds of beans (except fava) and Quinoa, a nutritious and tasty grain from South America that has been used by the Incas there for thousands of years! And yes, I love tofu!
