South Lyon, MI
Reviewed Pasta With Caramelized Onions & Blue Cheese (Moosewood)
"This definitely was easy to make and required very few ingredients. The blue cheese I used was a little strong and overpowered the dish a bit. Next time I would use a milder blue cheese. I used vegetable broth as that was what I had on hand. Enjoyed today for lunch and have lots of leftovers. Thanks."

I work full-time as a School Psychologist in Michigan. Besides the kids, one of the best aspects of the job is summer vacation, when I can concentrate on doing more of the things that I like to do---like look up recipes and play games on Recipezaar!!!
I married my wonderful and handsome husband, Sean, in August 2007. He is becoming a wonderful gardender and tends to both our veggie and herb gardens. We really enjoy cooking with our own fresh ingredients. We most often cook together, so my reviews typically reflect our joint opinions. He's the better cook, so I pick up a lot of my techniques from him.
My other interests include reading (biographies and historical fiction), Irish dancing (I've taken a class for the last several years), "appreciating" wine (I use the term very loosely), cross country skiing and snow shoeing (when there's snow) and listening to and going to see Irish bands (I love the Pogues and Flogging Molly).
I also enjoy travelling, and have seen a good part of Western Europe over the years. One of my favorite places is Italy, and Sean and I had a great time on our honeymoon eating, drinking, and sightseeing in the Cinque Terre and in Tuscany. In July 2009, we expanded our horizons to Eastern Europe and visited the Czech Republic, Slovenia, and Croatia. This summer, we stayed in the US and went to a wedding in Hawaii. We visited Kauai, the Big Island, and Maui.
Besides my husband, the other lights of my life are my cats: Pip (the orange one), Chloe (grey--by Pip), and Giselle (ragdoll who gets her own photo), all of whom I absolutely adore.

I love seafood, ethnic foods (especially Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Indian, Thai), and basically anything with some heat (I'm quite fond of my hot pepper garden). I gave up eating red meat in May 2011 and since the New Year 2012 have become pescetarian. I am not much into sweets or baked goods. I'm one of the only people I know that does not really care for cake or chocolate, going back as far as childhood (ask my mom, I used to eat birthday pie instead of cake)!
