Reviewed Rachael Ray's Deviled Ham Croque Madame
"Impressive brunch and like you said - quick and easy in spite of the ingredient list. This was a nice way to use up leftover frozen spiral ham; I used extra Tabasco and the homemade deviled ham is a great recipe in itself. I had to turn up the oven temperature to get it to brown, but otherwise perfect recipe."

Reviewed Super Simple Tortellini Salad
"Quick, colorful dish for a large group. I also enjoyed having the leftovers over mixed greens in my lunchbox. I recommend using a whole red pepper and light buffalo ranch dressing."

Here's a photo of me (on right) with my friend Suzanne at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival.
I Live in Paradise! In June 2011 I moved to an island in the Florida Keys, abundant with healthy sunshine, fresh produce and seafood. (My previous Zaar and Food.com name was ~Jen~ but I have now changed it to FLKeysJen.)
My Mission Statement is to have some fun every day. I believe that every day is a celebration of something. Your life, like your food, should never be boring.
My Cooking Style is like my sign (Gemini) - usually, it's to cook as healthy as possible with the most colorful, most fresh ingredients. Then there's my evil twin. She loves sinful, rich fatty foods that make her butt very big.
When Not Playing on Zaar, I like reading and watching movies. I am trying to like running (thanks to the evil twin) and participating in 5K races.
Influences: From 2003-2006, I took classes weekly from a native of China who taught us about interesting ingredients, and the history, geography and philosophy of each dish. So, I'm most comfortable making anything Asian but, originally a (Northern) California Girl, love "yuppie" wine country cuisine...sun dried tomatoes, goat cheese, avocadoes, etc.
My Favorite Cookbooks are the three by Janet and Greta Podleski. Here are some favorite recipes from this site:
Pizza, quesadillas, grilled cheese...I have a big weakness for anything with cheese melted on it. I love my panini maker.
