"My entire family loves these egg rolls. I have no idea where this particular recipe came from. Perhaps I "stole" it from someone, perhaps I got it out of a recipe book or magazine, or maybe I got it off the Internet back in its infancy. Somehow, I have a feeling that it may be bits and pieces of all these sources. In any case, this is the recip..."

    About Me

Just a guy from Colombia who loves to cook, make my own beer, my own sausage and play with my grandchildren.

On this page, you will find some of my personal favorite recipes that I have created, adapted or simply commandeered from family and friends.

Some of these recipes are of traditional Colombian foods that are tried and true from my own kitchen and have been recreated form my memories or old recipe books and cards given to me by my mother and grandmothers.

Other recipes are of my favorite foods that I have adapted to my own tastes.  I apologize for the lack of pictures (for now) but I have to confess that I am technically-challenged.

    Favorite Foods

I love traditional foods of all types and will try anything at least once (a trait for which I have been sorry a few times).  I am not much into "rabbit food' or very spicy food, I am basically a meat-and-potatoes kind of guy.  So, if you are looking for "healthy" or "non-fattening" repasts, I may not be of much help, sorry.

Although my family constantly tells me that they love my cooking (I hope they are not just being kind to the old man), my most requested and by far the thing that I am most famous for, is my Colombian salsa.  I have to admit that I have kept this recipe secret (even from my own family) for years but the time may be near for me to share it with the world.  We'll see.......

My motto is:  "If you like a recipe, make it; if it's close, adapt it."  I adapt a lot
