I aspire to be a great cook but sometimes fail miserably. Luckily, my husband is a good sport! |

I'm an artist, a wife to my amazing husband Rick (who is Italian and a great cook), and a mother to two spoiled-rotten cats, Capone and Java. I work from our home in beautiful Seattle, WA and I love to cook meals to feed a small army. Things that make lots of leftovers are my specialty...I like to make things that my husband can take to work the next day. I love to eat any kind of ethnic food but I don't know how to make anything that isn't good ol' downhome Southern Cooking. I learned to cook from my grandmother, who was a 'Bama gal, through and through. My favorite place in the world is New Orleans, so I love to make Cajun and Creole food. I call myself the Faux Chef because I don't have the talent to be a chef but I try really hard. My problem is, I never measure anything, which makes me TERRIBLE at baking.
Sushi is my all-time favorite guilty pleasure. I aspire to learn to make it properly one day. My best dish is Pork Chops with Rice and Tomato Gravy, but my entire family says my Kitchen Sink Potato Salad is award winning.
