    About Me

My enthusiasm for cooking has been evolving since I graduated from college, which makes sense since it was then I could own something other than a compact fridge and one-plate microwave.

When I was in my late 30's, I caught myself one day realizing that my go-to books for relaxing were routinely becoming cookbooks. I would have a flavor for whatever the recipe was based on aggregating the ingredients in my head. I enjoyed reading the different combinations, some based on adding an ethnic flair, an unusual twist, or a cooking chemistry.

I enjoy creating anything that looks interesting to me, and that I believe will tantalize my husband and 7-year old son. I love making soups, especially those that are cream-based, I get alot of suggestions from my son whom I often let my son peruse my cookbooks and let him pick his favorites.I have even challenged myself on whims to create eccentricities--such as the time I saw TV cooks easily whip up batches of lollipops (not for the faint of heart; or those without a Silpat at the very least!),

My favorite cookbooks are those put out by Costco. I have the first one and their last edition (2012) and am trying to procure the nine I'm missing in those years in between.

I will enjoy being a member of this site. Looking forward to posting some of my best recipes and pics!
