    About Me

I love to cook. It has been a passion since I could walk. I remember standing at my mother's side as a wee thing helping with the all important task of making the night's J-ello. I was so proud of myself. While the recipes have gotten more sophisticated, the feeling has never diappeared. I still love to cook and now to bake for friends and family. The sense of accomplishment that comes from a well prepared meal is unparalleled in this universe. To those of you who understand this love affair with food, salut!

    Favorite Foods

It would probably be easier to list my least favorite foods. I have a mild allergic reaction to squashes and sweet potatoes, so those are out. I'm still learning to like the flavor of anise, so I only do it in moderation.

I tend to cook / bake something many times until I get it "right" and then leave it, so I guess my favorites change regularly. At the moment I am finishing my work on a pumpkin-raisin yeast loaf. I am really getting into artisal breads and am gathering resources to help me understand their unique challenges.
