Reviewed Roasted Brussels Sprouts!
"I've never liked brussels sprouts but I must say this is the first brussels sprouts I've eaten and almost enjoyed. I added a bit of butter along with the olive oil and seasoned with just salt and pepper. Before putting in the oven I added about 1/2 cup water to the pan and roasted at 375 for about 40 minutes. I love to cook and try new recipes. My husband & I celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary this summer.. He will eat anything I make. He doesn't always like it, but he will eat it.
We were born and raised in small rural communities in Pa.
I've worked in finance for the past 20yrs.
For fun, I like to go to antique shops and flea markets. I collect old bottles and old mirrors. Half the fun of collecting is the search.....Our home is decorated with things found over the years at public auctions. Country decorating and antiques go together perfectly.
My favorite cookbooks would be the Pa. Grange Cookbooks and the cookbooks of favorite recipes from local churches. Tried and tested...very good, however in recent months, I've found many delicious recipes online.....This site is an excellent source of tested recipes.
Because of trying to cook healthier, I will make a recipe with less fat when possible. Less fat is better for the waist line too.
I guess my speciality is soup. Chicken Corn Soup, Spinach & Sausage Soup,& Beef Vegetable. I usually let a big pot simmer all day then share with family and friends. Chocolate cake with peanut butter icing has to be my favorite cake.
