I live in the heart of the USA in my opinion. I have been married 16 years and this year went through empty nest syndrome. I worked part time as my child grew up, but now I am back to work full time to pay for college. Sadly, going back to work full time has decreased my opportunities to cook as much as I did in the past :{ I love Recipezaar, especially the premium membership. It is so nice to have the extras that come with that. My DH has given me the membership for several years for my birthday.
Update 3-28-10 Well now that the premium membership is going away on Zaar, I haven't been on as of late. Zaar will still be my 1st place to visit if I am looking for a recipe, but I probably won't visit on a regular basis. I really liked not having to fight the ads. Due to an illness, I have returned to part time work. My husband likes me home more so it works out in the longrun.
Update 10-14-10 Although the transition from Zaar to Food.com was rough, I am slowly getting the hang of the new site. Luckily the ads have not been too cumbersome and I am learning to navigate the site. Change can be hard for me. I am now venturing into the forums and starting to play some of the games.
I really like the comfort foods. Casseroles are probably my favorite. I also love anything simple to eat as a snack. Can't forget chocolate, however I don't eat much in the way of sweets.
I am best known for taking a bland recipe from a cookbook and adding spices and extra ingredients to make it pop. Most of my recipes have garlic, mushrooms and/or cheese as one of the ingredients.
