HI! Greetings from Maryland,"The Land of Pleasant Living!" A retired pastoral counselor, I now serve as the weekend chaplain at our local hospital. I'm the mother of two grown sons. My oldest, a cabinetmaker, lives halfway around the world, in Darwin, at the Top End of Australia. Pictured above are his three beautiful (and so VERY far away) children. My youngest son is an investment banker, married and living in D.C. He and his sweet wife presented me with my very first hands-on grandchild, a beautiful little girl, born on New Year's Eve, 2009!
For me, relaxation is picking up a good book, especially a mystery. I travel every chance I get, fascinated by the history of new places, and meeting the "locals."
Cooking is my creative outlet. I love making a pot of soup. Discovering new ways to prepare fresh fruits and veggies. Brunch dishes. ONIONS! Apples in any form! Cheeses and nuts! Fresh herbs. That said, I'm happiest when baking...scones, muffins, quick breads, coffee cakes...an activity my friends enthusiastically encourage!
The WELCOME mat is always out...nothing better than sharing good food, wine, and relaxed conversation with friends.
Thanks to Recipezaar and a premium membership, I have an ever- expanding collection of cookbooks, overflowing with great recipes. My thanks to all who have shared the wealth of their recipe boxes, and cherished family recipes.
