"Like other reviewers, I think this recipe could use a little tuning up with additional ingredients. As posted, the recipe is very bland. Serving it with salsa helped but if I made this again, I would add sauteed onion, spicier sausage or whatever to give it a little lift."

     |  By Bonnie G #2

"What an easy recipe! I needed a light dessert for dinner and this went together in a flash. This isn't for the lemon meringue purists but it's a great tasting pie with little effort. I couldn't find an 8 ounce package of pudding mix so I used two smaller boxes to come close to the weight and it worked out just fine. Also, I preferred a large dollo..."

"We were searching for some alternative cookie recipes for Christmas this year and discovered these! Glad we did as the brown sugar and maple syrup were a nice change from granulated sugar. Also, the cranberry/pecan mix made these the most interesting oatmeal cookies ever. We will not be changing anything!"

"These are a quick, easy way to make an impressive breakfast treat. I generally use pecan halves, which I put in the pan first, followed with the rest of the ingredients. Also, I use 1/4 cup of butter and I'm happy with the results. Thanks for posting!"

"Very good, Bonnie G#2! Any recipe that goes into my "Favorites" file gets 5 stars and this one qualifies. I'm no accomplished chef, but once Bonnie explained what I needed for shrimp, I was good to go. This recipe takes a little preparation (best done ahead but the results are great and the left-overs are a delicious bonus. Thanks Bonnie!"

"Hi Diner 524,It never occurred to me to include chocolate in a strawberry shortcake. Wow, was this neat! One of my favorite flavor combinations. Even though it's still late winter, strawberries show up at the local market from places unknown and I can't pass them up. What a wonderful way to indulge!"

"Thanks Heirloom! I'm not willing to wait until tomatoes are in season so I frequently get a fair number of hydroponic tomatoes with textures more like tennis balls. This recipe makes them taste almost like the genuine home grown, ripened in the sun variety. Rather than fire up the oven, I used my toaster oven and the tomatoes were done in a jiffy...."

"I love the aroma and fresh crisp taste of refrigerator pickles but felt I was ready for a change from my old standby recipe. When I saw this recipe, I was concerned about the salt but discovered that it truly does pull out extra liquids, and if rinsed a couple of times, the vegetables are lightly seasoned but not salt cured. I also liked the bell ..."

"This recipe scales nicely. The flavor is great and using Derf's photos as a guide, I would recommend adding a bed of greens with cucumbers and tomatoes for garnish.
