I love cooking and try new recipes out often. I particularly love to try out unique recipes, especially from many different regions and cultures. My favorite foods tend to be Asian, especially Japanese. I grew up in New York, so when I am homesick, I tend to gravitate towards foods like bagels and kugels and great Italian meatballs. Oh how I miss the diners in NY!
I enjoy baking most of all, and it is probably what I am best at and feel the most comfortable with in the kitchen. I tend to use lots of herbs and florals in my baked goods.
I lived in Germany for a year, where I acquired many German recipes. I also used to live in London, England where I learned first hand just how much British cooking has improved by leaps and bounds.
My parents are both great cooks, so they were a big inspiration in my cooking. Actually, most of my extended family members pretty much rock at cooking, so I was always pretty lucky food-wise. My grandma taught me to taste everything at least once and was always experimenting with foods from any culture, and that seems to have rubbed off onto me too. Thank goodness for that. I can't think of anything more boring than eating the same old thing day in and day out.
I have lived in New York, New Hampshire, Kentucky, Kansas, Louisiana, California, Germany, Connecticut, North Carolina, England and most recently, Florida. I have studied several languages, although I don't consider myself truly fluent in anything but English and Typo ;) I can easily read and translate most any recipe written in German or French, and can usually follow a recipe well enough in Spanish or Italian as well. If you need any recipe translating help, let me know.

How I Rate Recipes:
5 Stars: Outstanding,a special find that I will make over and over again
4 Stars: Very good, something I highly recommend others to try, I would make this again, although I might make minor changes to suit my tastes.
3 Stars: Good, but not something I will make again often. Might need some slight changes, but in general the recipe works and others might enjoy this more than I did.
2 Stars: Fair, recipe did not work out well for me and I cannot recommend it.
1 Star: Poor, recipe did not work at all and I would caution others to consider another recipe.
